Dear Plato Families of the Gifted,
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. For those of you that know me, you know I am passionate about Gifted Education and proud to be part of the Plato family. For our new families, I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself and my qualifications.
I am a native Floridian, but have traveled extensively, lived in various U.S. regions, and spent five years in Gothenburg, Sweden where I was an executive for an international shipping company. After the birth of my daughter, I wanted to become an Educator and now have over thirteen years classroom experience with grades K-8. My undergraduate degree is from the University of New Mexico in English and Psychology and I hold a Master’s degree from the University of South Florida in English Education. In addition, I hold a Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate in Elementary Education K-6 with Gifted endorsement K-12.
I, too, am a parent of a gifted child (twice-exceptional) so there is much that we share in common already. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s progress, the gifted program, or any other issue that you would like to discuss with me.
We will have a marvelously fun time learning and growing together in the Gifted program here at Plato Academy, and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
